Ways of attaching handles to cane
Threaded metal rod with two nuts on each end. Sharpen ends to a point. This makes a very good weapon.
Handle for cane, tongue on bottom end
Use jawbones from cow or horse. You can also use deer antlers, or bone, for handles.
WALKING STICKS
AS WEAPONS
In medieval times, canes and walking sticks provided a perfect place to conceal weapons. Often, a staff would break apart to reveal a knife or sword. Even a one-shot gun could be hidden inside a walking stick. A walking stick could also be a weapon in and of itself, with sharp metal or bone edges worked into the design of the handle. It is the latter type of “weapon sticks” that you’ll find on the following pages.
